The infamous prisoner expects to be released soon

Charles Bronson has a lavish first day planned once he’s released from prison.

The criminal – formerly Charles Arthur Salvador – is one of the most notorious and longest-serving convicts in the UK. He was first jailed in 1974 for armed robbery, and has gone on to receive a number of further sentence during his time behind bars for violent incidents against inmates and staff, including taking 11 hostages in nine different sieges.

In 1999, Bronson took an art teacher, who had criticised his drawing ability, hostage in Hull Prison and, wielding homemade weapons, tugged him along with a skipping rope around his neck for two days.

He was given a life sentence with a minimum term of three years and has been turned down for parole ever since.

But he could soon be released at the ripe age of 70, and says he is still in rude health.

According to his ex-wife Irene Dunroe, Bronson has an insane first day of freedom planned in the event he gets out.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: “A Bentley car is going to come and pick him up when the day comes.

“It’s going to take him straight to the greasiest spoon cafe he can find so he can have a double breakfast of everything.”

Dunroe hasn’t revealed exactly where this greasiest of greasy spoons will be located, but she made clear that we’re talking ‘double sausage’ AND ‘double egg’.

She also recalled how she and Bronson had joked about making himself more at home when it comes time to go to bed on the outside world, by living in her garden shed.

“I said, ‘I can lock you in every night and let you out in the morning so you feel more at home’,” she joked.
