The Boeing plane has become a popular tourist attraction
An abandoned Boeing 737 has become the source of much intrigue and mystery over how it managed to end up in a quarry in Indonesia.
The aircraft sits in a limestone quarry near the Raya Nusa Dua Selatan Highway, Bali, and no one knows how it got there.
It is just a short distance from Pandawa beach, a popular tourist attraction, and continues to fascinate many.
The main theory so far revolves around a wealthy local businessman.
Rumour has it that he had the plane assembled in the quarry with the plan to turn it into a restaurant. However, he is said to have ran out of funds for the project, meaning that the plane was just left in where it was.

This story has never been confirmed by authorities though.
The aircraft is fenced off so it is not possible for tourists to actually get up close and go into it, but it can be seen from a viewpoint.
It’s not the only abandoned Boeing in Bali though.
Another plane, also a 737, can be found next to a Dunkin’ Donuts branch a few kilometres from Kalu Beach, the MailOnline reports.
It is thought to have been there since 2007 and was also rumoured to become a restaurant.
Tourists are able to visit this plane as well, and it was used as an events venue in 2018.
