Gigi Wu, the Taiwanese hiker known for posting pictures of herself in bikinis from mountain summits, has died after a fall. The 36-year-old managed to contact emergency services after falling into a ravine. She fall happened during a solo trek in Taiwan's Yushan National Park - home to some island country's tallest peaks. Local media reports that bad weather in the area prevented three separate rescue attempts by helicopter, and she is thought to have died of hypothermia. Her body was discovered on Monday morning. Temperatures had dropped to around freezing the previous night. Wu, despite being a popular figure on social media for posting her bikini-clad photos, was an extremely experienced hiker. Since reports of her death emerged, many of her followers have taken to her social media pages to express their condolences.
