Man dies in hospital one week after broad daylight stabbing in London

A murder investigation has been opened by the Met Police

A 23-year-old man has died in hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight in Bermondsey last week, on Monday June 11. Police and paramedics were called to Lucey Way at 6.21pm that day where they discovered a man who had been stabbed. He was taken to a south London hospital in a critical condition but was pronounced dead a week later on Monday June 18. https://twitter.com/lucy_b93/status/1006260865308520450 His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem will take place. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue after a murder investigation was opened by Scotland Yard. https://twitter.com/itsantique/status/1006252995183546373 Detective Inspector Ian Titterrell, who is leading the investigation, said: "At this early stage, we believe an altercation involving a group of males began outside Helen Taylor House in Linsey Street. The victim then took shelter at an address on Lucey Way after being attacked. "We know there were a large number of people in the vicinity at the time of the attack and I am appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. Any information will be treated with the strictest of confidence."
