This is heartbreaking.
Reports suggest that at least 3o people have been killed and over 100 have been injured after a truck was purposely driven into a crown of innocent revellers who were celebrating Bastille Day in the southern French city of Nice.
The incident took place on the Promenade des Anglais during a firework display, and the driver of the vehicle is said to have also died in the attack. Local police have urged people in the area to remain indoors, calling the incident “an attack”.
There have also been reports of shots being exchanged between police and the occupants of the lorry but these have not been confirmed, and should be treated with scepticism at this stage.
