This American teenager has survived terrorist attacks in Boston, Paris, and Brussels

An American teenager caught up in the Boston and Paris terrorist atrocities has been seriously injured in Tuesday’s attacks in Brussels.

19-year-old Mason Wells was just feet away from one of the explosions at Zaventem airport, one of three explosions which claimed the lives of over 30 people in the Belgian capital.

Mr Wells, a Mormon missionary, suffered a severed achilles tendon, shrapnel injuries, severe burns and a cut to his head from the blast, which took place in the airport’s departure lounge.

As reported by The New York Daily News, Mr Wells was standing close to the finish line of the Boston marathon in April 2013 when a pressure-cooker bomb exploded nearby.

In November, the Utah native was also in Paris at the time of the attacks on the French capital.

Speaking to ABC News, his father Chad Wells revealed that he contacted his son’s mission president in France to discover that his son had been injured in the attack but was alive.

“This is his third terrorist attack,” his father explained.

“Hopefully he’s run his lifelong odds, and we’re done,” he added.

Isis has since claimed responsibility for the attacks in Belgium, which also involved an explosion at the city’s Maalbeek Metro station.
