Daniel Hernandez, also known as Tekashi69 and 6ix9ine, has been hospitalised following a kidnapping and robbery that occurred early on Sunday morning.

The rapper was driving home from shooting a music video in Brooklyn at around 4am when the attack occurred.

Sources have informed TMZ that 6ix9ine attempted to pull into the driveway of his home where there was another vehicle blocking his path. Three hooded gunmen then jumped out of the car, before grabbing him and pistol-whipping until he lost consciousness.

According to TMZ, when he woke up he found himself in the back seat of the car and the men told him they would kill him if he did not co-operate.

Two of the men then went into his house and took around $750,000 (£570,000) worth of jewellery and between $15,000 and $20,000 (£11,500 – £15,000) in cash whilst the other guarded the car.

The men then drove away with the rapper still in the back seat. Eventually, he was able to free himself by opening one of the doors in the back and jumping out. He was pursued by one of his assailants before they gave up fearing after fearing they would be recognised.

6ix9ine then managed to jump into a stranger’s car and asked for help. An ambulance was called and the rapper was taken to hospital where he remains, having undergone CT scans and other tests.

The report comes only hours after the release of his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “FeFe.”
