Looks like our summer is going to be a total washout

Remember those few glorious days we got earlier this month? Well, it's looking like that was the entire UK summer.

That's your lot. All done. Normal rainy grey service has been resumed. Hope you made the most of the beer gardens and got a decent bit of sunburn while you were at it. A summer forecast from AccuWeather is predicting a drab summer ahead for the UK and Ireland. According to the weather forecaster, high pressure from Atlantic depressions between Iceland and the British Isles will prevent another heatwave from reaching our shores. In a report from the Daily Mirror, AccuWeather meteorologist Tyler Roys said:

"After a wet start to 2016, the unsettled weather will continue into the summer months, which means there could be enhanced localised flooding, especially in areas that are trying to still clean up from the floods in early winter."

Cheers Tyler. It's expected that the majority of these Atlantic depressions will affect Northern Ireland, western Scotland and northwest England the most. Best start planning your summer holiday now then. According to the same report, those with a love of sun should make their way to Italy, Greece and the Balkans for the best summer starting this July and August. But for those hoping their trip to France for Euro 2016 will sort them out, we're afraid it looks like there'll be a bit more bad news, as soggy weather is expected in France, Germany, Poland and the Baltic states. So unless you're heading to the Mediterranean, it's looking like a sun-bed summer for people looking to work on their tan. We best stick our barbecues back in the shed then. Oh dear...
