Kanye West is now the richest black man in US history, with a staggering net worth of $6.6 billion, it has been revealed.
It has been a whirlwind few years for Kanye, who, just three years ago, claimed that he was $53m in debt.
A year ago the rapper was reported to be a billionaire by
Forbes magazine, who said that the star's sneaker brand was "one of the great retail stories of the century."
The 43-year-old hip-hop star and fashion designer has seen his wealth accumulate over the past 12 months, thanks to his sneaker and apparel brand, Yeezy.

According to a private document seen by
Bloomberg, Yeezy is valued between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion, making up over half of Kanye's net worth.
The fashion designer's new Yeezy Gap line, which set to be released in US Gap stores in July, is estimated to be worth over $970m.
The bank document revealed that Gap has estimated more than $150 million in sales during its first year of the 10-year-long agreement.
Kanye is set for another successful year, considering he has sole ownership of the Yeezy company.
Part of the rapper's net worth comes from the $1.7bn that he earns from other assets - including his large investment into Kim Kardashian's successful underwear brand, Skims.
Kim
filed for a divorce from the rapper last month, ending their six-year marriage.
