Tiff over a riff.

Is it too late now to say sorry? Yeah probably.

Justin Bieber and Skrillex are being sued over the riff used in the the Canadian singer’s smash-hit song ‘Sorry’.

Singer Casey Dienel, who goes by the name White Hinterland, has claimed that the “unique characteristics of the female vocal riff” in her song ‘Ring The Bell’ are identical to the vocals featured in ‘Sorry’.

Biebs and Skrillex only used eight seconds of the riff on their tune, but Dienel said it features six times overall on the track. She has also said that there are other similarities, such as the instruments used. Both songs feature keyboard synthesisers, samples, synth bass, drums, and percussion.

According to TMZ, Dienel says that she warned the Canadian singer to stop using the sample last December, but he ignored her.

It’s hard to look past the similarities between the first few seconds of each song, have a listen for yourself.
