"After almost 10 years of dedicating my life to BBC Radio 1Xtra and Radio 1 and achieving everything I set out to I've decided the time has come to leave the BBC and seek a new challenge."Not revealing what his "new challenge" was at the time, he simply posted: "Announcement on what's next coming soon." Taking to social media again, Charlie today posted an Instagram image with the caption:
"People will always gossip... I will announce my next move tomorrow."Nothing unusual there, right? Wrong. https://www.instagram.com/p/BohTctElbd6/?taken-by=charliesloth The picture that Charlie posted to accompany his caption is of the former BBC 1Xtra man about to take a bit into an Apple. An Apple! C'mon now, we don't need to tell you what the man is trying to tell us. Do we? It was already speculated that he was signing on to take over a new show at Apple Music's Beats 1, but this picture just further fuels rumours that it's actually happening. If he doesn't announce that he's going to Beats 1 tomorrow then it's fair to say he's pretty damn good at stirring the pot, like our very own 50 Cent. The news of Charlie leaving the BBC comes off the back of the heels of another BBC mainstay, DJ Semtex, also leaving the company. He left to go to Spotify to start his own podcast series, Who We Be TALKS_ last month.
