This is affecting all aspects of life in the Big Apple, but life continues, as does the work of emergency services who need to brave the elements to serve and protect those in need.
But they're far from immune to the effects of the extreme weather, and vehicles are getting stuck in the thick snowfall.
Thankfully, New Yorkers are doing what New Yorkers do best - and being pushy. They're helping out ambulances and police cars in need of assistance by joining together and giving them a hand.
It just goes to show you can find warmth in the coldest of places.
