New York is a funny old place. Infamously hard but unashamedly soft at the same time.

The locals are often depicted as unforgiving and tough, and yet during desperate times, it is a city that comes together and pitches in like an old-fashioned community. Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you'll be aware that the US is experiencing a blizzard of Biblical proportions, with the East coast facing the brunt of the brutal weather. Washington Blizzard : News Photo This is affecting all aspects of life in the Big Apple, but life continues, as does the work of emergency services who need to brave the elements to serve and protect those in need. But they're far from immune to the effects of the extreme weather, and vehicles are getting stuck in the thick snowfall. Thankfully, New Yorkers are doing what New Yorkers do best - and being pushy. They're helping out ambulances and police cars in need of assistance by joining together and giving them a hand.
