Nerves, mild claustrophobia and sheer tiredness from those god awful 7 a.m flights when you feel like a zombie are all perfectly legitimate reasons for some cranky behaviour while flying.
But there's also a lot to be said for those incredibly annoying passengers.
In a new survey released by Hipmunk, 1,650 people revealed the types of travelers who they consider the most deplorable when it came to long plane rides.
In no particular order, here they are.
The drunk
Loud, obnoxious and unpredictable. They'll probably ask the cabin crew for 17 beers whenever they're serving food/drinks.
The talker
Al they seem to do is yak, yak, yak about their lives and it's not even remotely interesting. Don't these people know the golden rule when it comes to travelling? If your earphones are in then there's no talking allowed.
The sickie
Did the film Outbreak not teach us anything? If you've got the flu then don't inhabit a place where airborne germs are constantly being recycled.
The seat kickers
It seems like they're giving your seat a harder kick than Ronaldo would when he's taking a free kick.
The travel braggers
"China was so good because I really felt like I found myself there. Have you been there. It's so good, what's stopping you? Do you know what I mean?".
Selfie takers
Do you think 73 selfies in just 5 minutes might be too many?
Seat tilters
"It's ok, I don't mind flying for the next few hours with my knees scrunched up towards my chest ".
Designated spot merchants
Their ticket clearly says that they've got the aisle seat and yet they insist on having the window one. This is what they should do. Bon voyage.
