VIDEO: So THIS is what those little silica bags are for…and they’re bloody useful

For years, we've been throwing away the little white sachets marked 'Do Not Eat' that come in most shoeboxes BUT it turns out there might actually be a use for them.
A video featured on the Business Insider Facebook page explains how the little bags contain "silicon dioxide which dries out everything around them".
You can use them for a number of different things: 1) throw them in your gym bag to prevent the growth of mould and banish nasty odours, 2) defog your car windshield, 3) save old photos by preventing them from sticking together AND they're more effective than rice at resurrecting a water-damaged phone.
The little bags are "non-toxic and not poisonous" but they do pose a choking hazard and should be kept out of the reach of children.
