Putting these skills on your CV could lead to you getting paid less in your new job

Looking for a new job is hard enough without having to question each and every thing you've stuck up on your C.V.

It is always a good idea to get someone else to check over your resume before you send it in, the folks at Pay Scale have crunched the numbers, and found that the following items on your CV might not only cause you to get paid less if you do land the job, but might harm your chances of actually getting the job in the first place. At the very top of the list is "Filing", which the data shows could lead to as much as a 15.4% decrease in potential wages if the employer spots in on your CV. The rest of the harmful to your hiring skills are, in order of decreasing pay-scale damage: 2. Property management 3. Data entry 4. Bookkeeping 5. AS/400 6. Call centre 7. Help desk/help support 8. Collections 9. Intuit QuickBooks 10. Delphi 11. Packaging 12. Computer hardware technician 13. Plumbing 14. Administration 15. Pricing 16. System repair 17. Shipping 18. Document preparation 19. Customer service 20. Dreamweaver 21. Online research 22. Paying invoices 23. Phone support 24. Wordpress 25. Typing Some of these make sense - if you need to be calling attention to the fact that you can type, then that is a bit of a red flag - but seriously... Dreamweaver? Somebody out there has Dreamweaving as a skill on their CV? Only in the event that you might be getting a job in a Dreamweaving manufacturer would that be pertinent, and yet somehow it is still less damaging on your CV than putting down "Phone Support"? (someone whispers 'Adobe Dreamweaver' into our ear) Oh.
