No doubt still trembling from the aftershock of such a discovery, Ben took to Facebook to write a heartfelt (and very funny) message of complaint to Tesco...

"There was only 6 rashers of bacon. 6. I could not believe it! Mortified!", recounts Ben with clear anguish. "I called my other half into the kitchen but quickly dismissed her as she did not seem to understand the problem."
He signed off with a disgruntled and less than hopeful: "I look forward to your response and hopefully my additional rasher of bacon."
But Tesco did respond. Boy did they respond. Jamie in Customer Care, who describes himself as a "fellow bacon fan", had only sympathy and regret for Ben's troubles...
After going into (a bit too much) detail about the 'Jamie special' he treats himself to on occasions, the witty Tesco rep asked for Ben's details to ensure that he was properly recompensed for his trauma.
Well played Tesco. And well done Ben - your dedication to the porcine delicacy is an example to us all.
