Netflix has introduced an online subtitling, translation test and indexing system named HERMES and they’re looking to recruit talent who can help provide top-notch translations for users around the globe.
Five years ago, Netflix only supported English, Spanish and Portuguese, but it now supports more than 20 languages and is well aware of the need to be mindful of cultural nuances to ensure quality.
HERMES is a five-part test for subtitlers designed by content localisation and media engineering teams, in collaboration with renowned academics in the media translation space.
