It looks like McDonalds are moving on from humble yet yummy burgers and fries to something a little more fancy and refined. In fact it looks like they've gone all Great British Bake Off on us.
The fast food giant, who have developed fine-dining pretensions lately with table service and sumptuous new breakfast options, have gone one further by producing a dessert option that Mary Berry would be proud of.
Introducing McDonalds' macarons. Yes, that's right - those sweet meringuey-type confections you'd more likely expect to see at some fancy afternoon tea style do have made their debut at the golden arches.
Currently on offer in South Korea, the macarons are available in caramel, vanilla, chocolate and raspberry and were created the kitchens of Chateau Blanc in France.
We're not sure exactly if and when they're coming to the UK, but to be honest, we'd probably just plump for a McFlurry instead.Explore more on these topics:
