We thought the story that Newcastle Airport has starting selling doners would be the best piece of kebab news we'd hear this year, but how wrong we were. When we think about the humble kebab shop, we think of plastic seats and plastic forks, elephant's legs and cheesy chips, garlic sauce and a healthy dollop of chilli too. The doner kebab is simple food: meat and salad in a pita. Nothing fancy, nothing showy, nothing over the top.
