We are living in the era of self-documentation - and it's not very healthy.

In this Instagram-obsessed world, finding your good side is something that occupies the minds of many. It has emerged, however that those obsessive selfie-takers may suffer in their personal relationships. According to The Conversation, people who post more photos of themselves than their romantic partner report much more conflict in the relationship. In a study undertaken at Florida State University, it was revealed that social media surveillance of your partner is often associated with insecurity and dissatisfaction in the relationship. This is especially relevant when one person in a relationship posts more selfies than another,  and it can lead to the less snap-happy party creeping on their significant other's social media presence even more than usual. However, this behaviour may not be all to do with excessive fishing for likes, and may have more to do with the person in question being very narcissistic and in turn, craving admiration and attention from outside their romantic relationships.
