In a study undertaken at Florida State University, it was revealed that social media surveillance of your partner is often associated with insecurity and dissatisfaction in the relationship.
This is especially relevant when one person in a relationship posts more selfies than another, and it can lead to the less snap-happy party creeping on their significant other's social media presence even more than usual.
However, this behaviour may not be all to do with excessive fishing for likes, and may have more to do with the person in question being very narcissistic and in turn, craving admiration and attention from outside their romantic relationships.Explore more on these topics:
