‘Subscribing could mean the survival of a Great British Boozer’
As the cost of living and energy crisis forces many of us to cut back on our spending, one pub landlady has decided to raise some extra revenue to make sure her business survives the winter – by setting up an OnlyFans account.
Lauren Beers has decided to turn to the subscription-based website – most commonly associated with adult content creators – in a bid to stop her beloved pub from going bust as bills rocket in the coming weeks.
The pub landlady is charging £12 a month for adult content featuring herself to save the Waggon & Horses near Huddersfield.
The 40-year-old posted: “I’ve only ever been really good at three things: pulling pints, necking pints and T*TS.
“So . . . I thought I’d combine a guy’s (and lots of girls’) favourite things.
“You subscribing could mean the survival of a Great British Boozer.”
It sounds like regulars at the pub are supportive of Lauren’s move into the OnlyFans world as well, with one telling the Sun: “Lauren is a cracker with a twinkle in her eye, she’ll be a big hit.”
And she also has her husband Paul’s support, who said: “She’s doing it to save the pub, it’s as simple as that.”
Household energy bills will rise to £2,500 a year on average from October 1, but for small businesses the price increase could be even more devastating.
Last week, the government announced its support package to help business through the winter.
The scheme will fix wholesale gas and electricity prices for firms for six months from 1 October, shielding them from potentially crippling costs.
