Airbnb owner baffled by guest who can't use fridge or cooker

Bless ’em

An Airbnb owner has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a rather bizarre and amusing exchange with a guest over text message.

Michelle B, who goes by the username @theflowertruck, posted a video revealing that her guest seemingly couldn’t figure out how to use the fridge or the stove on her oven.

Not only does the poor visitor question whether the fridge has a lock on it rather than opening it from the correct side, but they can’t seem to understand how the owner’s induction hob works either.

As if that wasn’t enough, Michelle then goes on to screen share a clip from her apartment’s CCTV camera after the guest ordered takeaway and couldn’t find it. The delivery driver said they had left it on the porch but the young woman couldn’t find it.

The clip shows that if the young woman had taken more than just a cursory glance after stepping outside, the food was waiting for her around the other side of the porch as the driver informed her.

Let’s face it, we all have those days, but one person was so surprised by the series of events that they said: “It’s super cute. But were those texts even real or were they faked for viewers to advertise this?”.

Naturally, the TikToker denied this, insisting that she has plenty of bookings on a regular basis and even had to go on to defend her actions after commenters accused her of being cruel and “unprofessional”.

Others pointed out that the guest may have been new to the country and therefore unfamiliar with things that may seem fairly straightforward to others.

Nevertheless, Michelle says it was “all in good fun” and while she was laughing at some of the questions, she still “chose to be kind and help” and insists she prefers any of her guests “communicate too much than not enough”.
