We are swimming in Star Wars excitement right now
The long-awaited Jedi: Fallen Order sequel has finally been announced by EA following this year’s Disney Expo and has been slated for a 2023 release window.
With the title now confirmed as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the follow-up to the hit 2019 title is one of at least eight different Star Wars games currently in development – many of which are still untitled. Yes, we’ll be playing them all.
While much of the story surrounding the game still remains unknown, not only do we get our first look at an older Cal Kestis and his faithful droid companion BD-1 still on the run, but we also get a glimpse of stormtroopers, an unnamed Pau’an antagonist (as seen in the prequels), the Inquisitors still on his tail and a mysterious figure hooked up to a series of tubes in a flotation tank.
One aspect that is getting fans even more excited is that the Fallen Order sequel takes place five years after the previous game, which itself was five years after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Order 66, which means that this latest entry is set in the same period as the recently released Obi-Wan Kenobi show.
That’s right, we could very well be getting a Kenobi cameo in the continuation of Cal’s story.
While an official release date is yet to be revealed, the trailer confirms that the game is coming in 2023 – the same window in which the already teased Star Wars Eclipse.
As for the games releasing this year, the LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga is already delighting fans with nostalgia and the Nintendo Switch arena game, Star Wars: Hunters is due later this year.
