All the games set to be available at launch for the Nintendo Switch 2

The console is coming soon!

The new Nintendo Switch 2 is rumoured to be revealed on Thursday 16 January and speculation over pre orders dates and prices are already underway.

Along with a new console launch fans are also intrigued to see the games that will be available at launch and one podcaster has already ramped up the speculation.

On his podcast Nate the Hate says there could be two new Mario games with one of them potentially coming for launch.

He says Mario Kart 9 could be a launch title or a September release, while a Mario 3D game could also be on the horizon. That could be Mario Odyssey 2 or an entirely new adventure for the console.

Popular leaker Nate the Hate says a port of Assassin's Creed Mirage is expected for the Switch 2, as is a port of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta. The latter could be available at the launch of the new console.

A game we can expect to appear as a launch title on the new console will be Metroid Prime 4. A gameplay trailer has already been revealed for the title and it is very likely it will be available on the new Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo fans will be keeping a careful eye on new launches expected for the original Switch in 2025 because if a new console does arrive it means they are likely to be available for that too. 

It includes the new Pokemon game, Z-A, which is expected to be a launch title for the new console and one of the biggest games of the year for Nintendo. 

Of course, the new Nintendo Switch 2 will have backwards compatibility so you will be able to enjoy all of your Nintendo Switch back catalogue on the new device. The extra processing power would also allow for more remakes of popular games from other consoles if the developers wish. 

Pre orders for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console have not been announced and Nintendo has not even officially confirmed a launch date for the console, although it did promise to reveal it before April 2025.

When it is released pre orders will open on Amazon, GAME and Currys.
