First image of Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie appears to leak

This movie is going to be insane

An image that appears to be the first look at Jim Carrey in the Sonic The Hedgehog live-action movie has appeared online.

That looks, well, not bad. Kind of how you would expect Jim Carrey playing a mad professor to look.

There is no official confirmation on if it is real yet, but fans have noticed his haircut matches photos on Instagram from when he was preparing for the role.

The full trailer is rumoured to be released on Tuesday.

Dr Ivo Robotnik is Sonic’s arch nemesis, and first appeared back in the original Sonic The Hedgehog game on the Mega Drive in 1991. In Japan, he is named ‘Dr Eggman’, and most Western releases have also used that name in recent years. But it appears the movie is using the American name.

We previously got a glimpse of what Sonic will look like – and it is a bit weird.

A leaked branding agency document also seemed to give us a closer look.

Voicing Sonic in the movie is Ben Schwartz, who you might recognise as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein, Tom Haverford’s best friend in Parks and Recreation.

Also cast in the film alongside Jim Carrey are James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Adam Pally, and Neal McDonough.

Sonic The Hedgehog is set to be released in the US on November 8th, and will be in UK cinemas Boxing Day, 2019.
