Declan Rice and Michail Antonio take on West Ham fans at Call of Duty launch

JOE

They can talk the talk but can they walk the walk?

Declan Rice and Michail Antonio engage in their fair share of battles in the line of work. Contesting headers in the air and 50/50s on the ground, they are two of the most combative players in the West Ham squad and never shy away from getting stuck in- characteristics befitting of Call of Duty players.

At last month’s Call of Duty beta event, the Hammers duo tested the new Modern Warfare game for the first time and it’s safe to say they felt pretty confident in their ability, as Antonio claimed: “No-one’s getting near us on this game,” in a tweet after the event.

What the winger might not have predicted was being asked to put his money where his mouth is, and back up these words in a two vs two contest with two keen West Ham fans.

Craig, AKA ‘Skxttlless’ and fellow gamer Billy engaged in some friendly trash talk with their footballing heroes, and Antonio gladly challenged them to a duel at the game’s official launch.

Antonio and Rice were humbled on the night, losing the contest, as Craig took full advantage of the chance to show off his achievement to the world.

It was all handshakes in the end, though, after a night of gaming, food and live music.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now.
