Andros Townsend scored the goal of the season so far on Saturday. The 40-yard volley put Crystal Palace ahead of Manchester City at the Etihad stadium. City had gone 1-0 ahead of Palace through Ilkay Gündogan but the Eagles clawed back to 2-1 with goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Andros Townsend. In the 35th minute, poor defensive work from Manchester City left a scrappy ball looping out to around 40 yards from the goal. Andros Townsend, who knows how to bang in a long-ranger, ran onto and through it, the ball rebounding in a spin-less swerve toward the top corner.
