One mum has sparked a debate on the internet after revealing that she makes five weeks worth of school lunches in advance for her children.
Elise explained that she makes a batch of 27 sandwiches in one go for her child to take to school so that she has more free time in the mornings.
In order to preserve the sandwiches, they are kept in the freezer and taken out the night before they are needed so that they can be defrosted and put into the lunchboxes.
An image of the sandwiches posted to a Facebook group showed them all wrapped individually to be put in the freezer.
However her time-saving hack has been met with mixed opinions, with some parents claiming it could have a 'funny taste' and concerns that fillings may still be frozen.
Following the comments, she was forced to defend herself.
She said: "Just to be clear; I don't expect my child to eat soggy sandwiches. They defrost well overnight.
"I also don't expect my child to eat frozen sandwiches. They are defrosted the night before."
To clear up fears that the bread may go soggy, she added: "We add all those things on the morning of eating. Let the sandwich defrost overnight on bench and then add the salad that morning."
Others praised the initiative of Elise and said: "My dad was a single father raising three children and worked full time - he always did this on a Sunday night for school lunches. We never complained, always tasted just fine."
Another wrote: "I have about a three-week supply of sandwiches as I have three kids and a hubby as well. It works great ... I make sure I go to the bakery and buy my bread fresh and do it on the day! No complaints here from anyone."
