Morrisons launch halloween pizza with ‘ghost chilli sauce’ 200 times hotter than jalapeños

Morrisons is launching a limited edition RIP-izza for Halloween that or may or may not leave your party guests gasping for water. Or doing that thing people do where they say "I am ACTUALLY... DYING." when they are not, in fact, actually dying. Seriously though, this thing is hot. Unsuspecting chilli lightweights be warned. This isn't the pizza for you. The 10” stonebaked base has the algae Spirulina added to it to give it an appropriately spooky tombstone look. As well as having a tombstone green base, the RIP-izza is topped with ingredients made from some of the world’s hottest chillies.

As victims bite into the pizza the first fiery surprise will be the ghost chilli sauce. The ghost chilli has a Scoville rating of over 1 million, 200 times spicier than Tabasco sauce and 200 times hotter than a jalapeño. If that doesn’t spook/burn them enough, next up comes the reaper chilli cheddar – a cheese infused with the world’s hottest chilli, the Carolina Reaper, which is 300 times hotter than the Jalapeño chilli and Tabasco sauce. For a final devilish surprise, there's some spicy beef and jalapeños. Which, obviously, will be comparatively mild for you by this point. Simon Metcalfe, Pizza buyer at Morrisons said: “This pizza is one of the hottest and spookiest we’ve ever made. It is definitely a combination of trick and treat with the delicious tombstone-green base, and the burn from the reaper cheddar or ghost chilli sauce.”
