Coca-Cola releases flavour that tastes of dreams

It’s the latest flavour in their Creation series aimed at Gen-Z

Coca-Cola has released a new ‘dreamworld’ flavour that tastes like the “surrealism of the subconscious.”

The drink is the final in the company’s Creation series. The previous flavours in the series are ‘byte,’ ‘starlight,’ and one created in partnership with DJ Marshmello.

Each of the flavours features an barcode on the can or bottle that takes you to an Augmented Reality music experience.

The ‘byte’ flavour was released in May and was marketed as tasting like pixels in an “amazing nod to gamers” and a flavour that transcends “both the digital and physical realms.”

After the release of the ‘byte’ flavour, Oana Vlad, Coca-Cola’s senior director of strategy, said he hoped the beverage “provoked debate and curiosity.”

He told CNET: “What I find especially exciting about this Coke Creation is the intentional air of mystery in defining the taste of a pixel.

“We know that any new Coca-Cola Creations expression will provoke debate and curiosity which we welcome.”

According to some reviews of the drink, the ‘byte’ flavour “tasted of confusion, but in a pleasant way” and “like acid and sugar.” So a mixed bag.

This was followed by Marshmello’s creation and the space-flavoured ‘starlight.’ This is said to give drinkers a “subtle cooling sensation.”

And now, to round off the wacky selection, we have ‘dreamworld’ flavour.

According to one review of the drink from Elite Daily, the scent of the drink gives “cotton candy vibes,” with a hint of watermelon.

The taste may have included some peach in it, with a “floral hint in the aftertaste.”

But perhaps the most intriguing part of the review is that it has a “light, almost cloud-like flavor to it.”

You’ll have to be quick if you want to get your hands on a bottle or can though. The previous flavours were only available in extremely limited qualities and for a limited time.
