It is only a matter of time
Since this is a story about the Marvel films, there will be some spoilers for Avengers: Endgame. But if you care about these things, you’ve probably already seen it three times at least.
When Disney acquired 21st Century Fox earlier this year, movie fans had two thoughts. First, that soon all entertainment will be controlled by one all-powerful megacorporation, eating all competitors alive, with no reason to risk innovation or originality. And two, Spider-Man and Wolverine can now be in the same film together!
Yes, Fox have long-owned the film rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, meaning that Disney couldn’t feature them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That has all changed now, and it is only a matter of time before those Marvel icons join their fellow heroes on-screen.
The question is not if it will happen, it is just when and how. And now, fans think they might have some answers to that.
The trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the first post-Avengers: Endgame movie, dropped on Monday. And while it was filled with exciting stuff, one thing in particularly stood out.
Nick Fury tells Peter Parker that “The Snap tore a hole in our dimension” – which means that the mulitverse is probably now a thing in the MCU.
And many fans think that would be a perfect way to bring the likes of the X-Men, Deadpool and the Fantastic Four into the existing film continuity – they could exist in a different dimension, and can cross over with our already established heroes.

I got loads of questions now that we know for sure the multiverse is in play, but the most obvious one for me is
How long until X-Men, Fantastic 4, and most importantly, Dr. Doom?

Of course, there are other things it could be. It could be the set-up to bring Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen into the MCU. Or it could be a way to bring Iron Man or Cap back, if Disney decide to drive a dump truck full of money up to Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans’ homes.
Or, since in the comic Mysterio is a villain that is all about deception, it all might just be a ruse or a trick, and part of his villainous plan.
