It has been a while since 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' was a regular feature on British TV, but in a sense it has never been away.

The cult American TV show is on its way to Netflix later this month, but if the theme tune has come on at a bar or club in recent weeks you'll no doubt have found countless people singing along, knowing every word. It is an iconic piece of music, beloved by many, even if there is an awkward silence whenever the extra verse in the extended version comes on. And now we have learned that that famous tune works for some other, even better-known lyrics. Mic's Talia Jane was presumably getting in the Christmas spirit when she struck gold, working out that the words for the Fresh Prince theme fit to 'The Night Before Christmas', and vice versa.
