How amazing would this be?

When Martin Scorsese speaks, the world should listen.

The iconic director of Raging Bull, Goodfellas and The Departed gave a fascinating interview with Channel 4 journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy recently, and aside from promoting his new film, Silence, the Oscar winner was happy to discuss a plethora of topics.

Scorsese’s views on his recent meeting with the pope, Trump’s election, Robert De Niro’s anti-Trump rant and the craft of filmmaking are all fascinating, but film fans around the world will be salivating at the prospect of a movie which stars Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio.

As you know, the two actors have frequently collaborated with Scorsese on some remarkable films before and the director has admitted that he’s constantly “trying” to get them together on-screen.

While the two actors have appeared on screen together before in This Boy’s Life, they’ve yet to share a screen under the guidance of Scorsese despite the fact that the director has worked extensively with both of them in separate eras.

DeNiro is set to work with Scorsese again on The Irishman, but in a recent interview, the two-time Oscar winning actor revealed that he would also love to work alongside DiCaprio.

When asked about De Niro’s quotes, Scorsese says that “we’ve been talking about that for years, but, we haven’t found the material. I went off on the road here with Silence, so, we tried for years to find something. The new one that we have called The Irishman, that unfortunately doesn’t have a role in it for Leo, I don’t think. There’s no reason why after that, we couldn’t find something.”

Here’s hoping they do.
