Vin Diesel was collecting a People’s Choice Award for Furious 7 when he paid a tribute to the late Paul Walker.

You could tell from the moment he got to the podium that he was very emotional when collecting the award. While shooting the seventh installment of the movie franchise, Paul Walker died in a car crash and Furious 7 was completed using digitally added shots of the late star.

During his acceptance speech, Diesel said: “You know, as I was coming up here, I always do this. I say I’m not going to get emotional about winning these awards, and I was cool when I was sitting in my seat.”

He went on to talk talk about how working with Paul was a labour of love.

“My only message to you is you’d be amazed what you can do with love. You’d be amazed at how powerful a force that is. When we didn’t want to come back to filming when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw us through to the end.”

He finished the speech by singing Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again, which was the film’s tribute to Walker.
