Tom Hardy has his work cut out for him
After the main plot for
Venom was announced, it's clear that Eddie Brock wasn't going to be the only character that had the alien symbiote tested on them.
Given that Ruben Fleischer's film will mirror the popular Lethal Protector storyline from the comics, film fans are going to be introduced to a rogues gallery of villains.
In that particular comic-book, Venom goes up against the Life Foundation, a group that pushes the Venom symbiote to spawn even more sadistic variations.
Once bonded with the symbiotes, the threat gets even greater as Agony, Phage, Scream, Riot, and Lasher, are also unleashed. This being said, there's an even bigger danger that's lurking, Carnage (rumoured to be played by Woody Harrelson)
After the first few trailers were fairly 'Venom-lite, we're treated to some scenes of the anti-hero unleashing hell.
After seeing various clips of Hardy wrestling with his demons - quite literally - we're treated to Riz Ahmed's sinister character as he revels in experimenting on his new subjects.
One thing is for sure, this is no superhero film.
