The new Halloween movie looks superb

Eric Lalor

Michael Myers is back.

There have been eleven instalments in the Halloween franchise, but nothing has come close to the sheer terror and brilliance of the original way back in 1978.

This could be the time. The brand new Halloween movie picks up forty years after the events of the original film while disregarding the continuity of the previous sequels and even stars Jamie Lee Curtis who reprises her role as Laurie Strode. The original film marked Curtis’ big screen debut.

The trailer has just landed and it looks like it could be a classic. Directed by David Gordon Green, we cannot wait to see this land in the cinemas.

Plot’s it all about?: It’s 40 years after Michael Myers murdered three people known to Laurie Strode and had attempted to murder her. He’s been put in a maximum security asylum, but of course, he doesn’t stay there for long. Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis), meanwhile, has been longing for him to escape. Why you ask? Well to bloody kill him once and for all, that’s why! Let’s get ready to rumble!

Cast: Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, Omar J Dorsey, Nick Castle, Miles Robbins, Rhian Rees

Irish release date: 19 October
