Captain Marvel is finally here, and she may hold the key to defeating Thanos

Meet the most powerful hero in the MCU

Ok, we’re fairly certain that you’re all up to speed on the events following Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and The Wasp. Yep, consider this the most redundant spoiler alert possible.

As Nick Fury desperately sent that page to Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel, it’s clear that she’s one of the few people that can help repair the devastating damage on Earth after Thanos’ fatal finger snap.

Described by Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige as “more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far” it’s clear that Brie Larson’s character is going to have a massive impact on the MCU.

As for the film, Captain Marvel takes place in the mid-1990s – that’s before the very first Iron Man launched the MCU – and the superhero is the first one that Nick Fury meets.

Plot’s it all about?: The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. After joining an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander, Carol is thrown into an intergalactic battle after the Skrulls invade Earth, led by Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos at the head of the army.

Never heard of the Skrulls? Well, we won’t ruin the surprise!

Cast: Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace.

Directors: Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck.

Release date: Captain Marvel will arrive in cinemas on March 8, 2019 in the UK, Ireland and the US.

Enjoy!
