Football fans were stumped by the question
Football fans were stunned by a question on the popular ITV show ‘The 1% Club’ which some claimed was impossible to solve.
The episode which aired on ITV on Tuesday left viewers baffled by the five per cent question.
The show, hosted by Lee Mack begins with 100 contestants hoping to walk away with £100,000 but as the questions become harder, their numbers dwindle down until the remaining quizzers answer a question that only one per cent of the country got right in the final round.
In the first round, all 100 contestants are given a question that 90 per cent of country answered correctly. Those who get it right progress while £1000 is added to the prize pot for every player that gets it wrong.
Each round gets progressively harder. If just one contestant remains and they correctly answer the one percent question, they take home the £100,000 prize pot.
The five per cent question on Tuesdays stumped viewers though.
The question read: “What quote is being represented here?” Followed by various football results.
“Liverpool 4-1 Arsenal
“Brighton 4-1 Luton
“West Ham 4-1 Millwall
“Newcastle 4-1 Rochdale.”
While many were simply amused by their rival football clubs being on the wrong end of a 4-1 beating, others were scratching their heads trying to figure it out.
To complicate matters, viewers were also shown the scoreline “Chelsea 4-4 Man Utd”.
People were kicking themselves when the answer was revealed with one user sharing the correct result: “All for 1 and one 4 all.”
The real winners were Hammers fans who were delighted and slightly distracted by the fact their team thrashed their arch rivals Millwall.
One said: “East London is wonderful…” While a second said: “We thrashed Millwall is the correct answer.”
