The Rock opens up about the supposed Vin Diesel feud on Fast 8

Just days after calling out 'chicken shit' co-stars

It was difficult to miss The Rock’s very strongly worded smackdown on his Fast 8 male co-stars earlier this week.

The wrestling legend and world’s highest earning actor had no time for subtlety when he called out unnamed members of the cast as “chicken shit” and “candy asses” in a raging Facebook post.

Then came the speculation about exactly who he was referring to. According to a number of media reports – including this one from TMZ – The Rock’s beef was with The Fast & the Furious poster boy, Vin Diesel.

The website reported that the pair had organised a secret meeting to iron out their differences, after the tension on set got so intense that it was almost impossible to shoot scenes. Yikes.

But The Rock looked to be in a much better mood in a video posted to his Instagram and Facebook pages in the last 24 hours.

Shooting on the eighth movie in the ridiculously successful franchise wrapped up this week, and the 6ft 5 star did his utmost to defuse any remaining animosity by praising the ‘team effort’ and explaining that ‘like with any team – that’s a family – there’s gonna be conflict’.

My FINAL WEEK of shooting #FastAndFurious. There's no greatness ever achieved alone.. it's always a team effort. We promised an epic prison break out for you guys and we delivered. HUGE THANK YOU to my ohana (family) stunt coordinator JJ Perry and his bad ass fearless stunt team – as well as my cousin and incredible stunt double @samoanstuntman. Thank you team for the willingness to "die hard" and drop your blood & sweat daily for our movie. #MyStuntBrothers #Loco4Life You guys reading this know how much I believe in the idea of TEAM EFFORT. That means respecting every person, their time and their value when they step on to my set or partner with our production company. And like with any team – that's a family – there's gonna be conflict. Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it. At the end of the day me and #F8 co-stars all agree on the most important thing: Delivering an incredible movie to the world. #Fast8 #IcemanCometh #FamilyGrowth

If it is true that Diesel and Johnson that have had a spat – and there’s still no hard evidence that that is the case – then we hope they hug it out soon. Those two are too good on screen together.
