The Bureau, the beloved French spy thriller series due to get a Hollywood remake soon, is finally available to stream via Paramount+.
The original show centres on the daily lives and missions of agents with France's external security service - its equivalent of the CIA.
In particular, it focuses on the 'Bureau of Legends', a unit responsible for training and handling deep-cover agents on long-term missions in areas with French interests.
Living under false identities for years, these agents' missions are to identify and recruit good intelligence sources.
"Intelligence officer Guillaume Debailly (Mathieu Kassovitz) is mysteriously recalled to Paris after spending six years under cover in Syria," The Bureau's plot synopsis states.
"As he tries to re-connect with his daughter, ex-wife and colleagues, Debailly risks everything by resuming contact with his married lover, Nadia (Zineb Triki), who might have secrets of her own that jeopardise the agent."
Having ran for five seasons between 2015 and 2020, The Bureau was a hit with both audiences and critics.
In fact, some have even called it France's greatest series ever.
The Bureau was such a success in fact that a remake is currently in production in London titled The Agency.
Partly directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna) and produced by George Clooney, the reimagining will follow Martian (played by Michael Fassbender, The Killer), a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station.
"When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage," the official plot synopsis for The Agency reads.
The cast for the remake - which will be released on Paramount+ as well - also includes Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction), Jodie Turner-Smith (Bad Monkey), John Magaro (Past Lives), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) and Richard Gere (Internal Affairs).
All five seasons of The Bureau are streaming in the UK and Ireland right now via Paramount+.
