Fans began tagging @Instagram in the posts to alert the service to the hacking and it seems that the former Girls Aloud singer's people have noticed as the posts have since disappeared from her page.
The posts stayed up for roughly half an hour, which was more than enough time for them to be screenshotted and shared around.
It's unclear exactly why the hacker took control of the singer's account, other than gain themselves a few more followers on Twitter.
Cheryl made headlines last week when she finalised her divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a hearing that lasted only 14 seconds.
