Some crafty hacker has been playing havoc with Cheryl’s Instagram

A number of strange photos have popped up.

Looks like pop princess Cheryl has had her internet security compromised.

It is not unusual these days to see a celebrity’s social media account posting strange materials but the incidents of hacking seem to be increasing as brands and entertainers rely on the medium more and more in order to promote themselves.

Fans noticed early on Monday morning that the Call My Name singer’s Instagram had suddenly started sharing some very questionable Satan-worshipping posts.

One strange image is accompanied by the caption ‘666 FUCK LIAM PAYNE’ – a reference to her partner.

Another calls for people to follow an unknown Twitter account, presumably the source of the hack.

Fans began tagging @Instagram in the posts to alert the service to the hacking and it seems that the former Girls Aloud singer’s people have noticed as the posts have since disappeared from her page.

The posts stayed up for roughly half an hour, which was more than enough time for them to be screenshotted and shared around.

It’s unclear exactly why the hacker took control of the singer’s account, other than gain themselves a few more followers on Twitter.

Cheryl made headlines last week when she finalised her divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a hearing that lasted only 14 seconds.
