Season 2 of The Haunting of Hill House looks like it’s going to happen

Prepare to be traumatised, again

Great news for fans of the Netflix horror

Do we dare go back to the red room?

Granted, if you’ve never seen The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix, you’ll have absolutely no idea what that question means, but for fans of Mike Flanagan’s superb series, the horror has only just begun.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter Carla Gugino (Olivia Crain) was very optimistic that we’ll be returning to Hill House in the future.

“Mike Flanagan said he would be interested in the notion of an anthology, where some actors come back to play different characters,” Gugino said.

“I think he feels like he has told the complete story of the Crain family. But if I was invited and I was able to, I would really love to, just because I do love to collaborate with him.”

Haunting of Hill House Season 2

These remarks correspond with what Michiel Huisman (Steven Crain) said about the potential for another season of The Haunting of Hill House.

“Well, you know what, very early on, when we were still shooting this show, we had conversations about what a second season could look like,” Huisman said.

“I think that one of the crazy things about Mike is that he is an infinite well of ideas and stories.  I don’t think he ever sleeps! There are possibilities – if the show is a hit – to create a second season and still be in this world of Hill House.”

In fact, the show might follow the direction that American Horror Story has championed – making anthology entries and spin-offs.

Huisman added: “But I could also totally see [Flanagan] pitch an idea where we just do a spin-off. Film an anthology series and take it in a completely different direction. We have to wait and see. That’s one of the cool things about Netflix, they’re open to anything.”

Given the remarkable popularity of the show, we’d be amazed if we’re not making a return to Hill House very soon.

Prepare to be traumatised, again.
