Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool writers are making a film for Netflix

Good news for any Deadpool fans, Ryan Reynolds will be teaming up with the writers behind the NSFW superhero movie for a straight to Netflix release next year.

Netflix is partnering with Skydance Media on Six Underground with Deadline reporting that the action-thriller will be directed by Michael Bay.

Screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have penned the film that Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce.

The film’s plot is believed to follow six billionaires who fake their own deaths and then form a team to topple a group of baddies.

The partnership builds on Skydance’s relation with Netflix that has been the company produce the Emmy-nominated series Grace and Frankie and the sci-fi anthology series Altered Carbon.

And the news comes after Deadpool 2 took an estimated $125 million at the US box office over the weekend, which is just a little less than its predecessor movie’s $132.4 million opening.

This is the biggest movie into the features market by Netflix since the release of Will Smith’s Bright, which was panned by critics but watched millions of times via the streaming service.

Production on the movie will commence this summer for a worldwide in 2019.
