The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced immediate operational hurdles upon returning permanently to the UK after living six years in the Golden State, California.

The couple recently pulled their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from their initial school selection due to security concerns over daily traffic commutes.

Harry and Meghan controversially moved back to the UK after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 amid the 'Megxit' crisis, prompting them to leave for the US.

Upon their return, King Charles reiterated his stance on the couples stance as private individuals and non-working royals.

However, the rapid change of plans, coming just 2 days after the beginning of the school term, has drawn public scrutiny toward their UK advisory and relocation team.

Meanwhile, The Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) and the Risk Management Board are conducting fresh threat assessments to determine if the Sussexes qualify for taxpayer-funded security.

The committee chair wrote to the duke last week confirming that in light of their changed circumstances, it had commissioned a new risk assessment for him and a separate one for Meghan.

In the meantime, Prince George has started boarding at Eaton College where his father, William, Prince of Wales and Prince Harry both attended as children.
