Prepare to be terrified because The Crooked Man and The Nun are getting their own films

Paul Moore

Fans of The Conjuring will definitely be watching these.

It appears that the creators of The Conjuring won’t be happy until everyone is suffering from sleep deprivation.

Not only have they introduced us to the incredibly creepy adventures of Lorraine and Ed Warren, but they’ve also got spin-offs in the works, the most recent being Annabelle: Creation which is released on August 11th.

You may also have recently heard that The Nun who haunted Lorraine Warren’s dreams will also be getting her own standalone film that will be released on July 13, 2018

Well, if you enjoyed The Conjuring 2 and the nightmarish creations that came from the mind of James Wan, you’ll be delighted to know that The Crooked Man will also be getting his own film.

The Hollywood Reporter have announced that Mike Van Waes will be developing the script for New Line, from a story by James Wan.

Fans of The Conjuring 2 will remember that incredibly creepy scene when the music box kept on turning on the little boy’s tent. The Crooked Man then came to life and possessed the little girl.

Yep, it frightened the crap out of us also.

This being said, The Crooked Man is based on an old nursery rhyme, so there’s some folklore that they can rely on.

“There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile. He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse. And they all lived together in a little crooked house.”

Yep, it’s creepy as hell.

Producer Peter Safran said, “I think there’s something fascinating in the Crooked Man. Maybe tonally he’s not as grounded as the Conjuring itself is and maybe that’s why some people felt it wasn’t what they were looking for in the Conjuring but I suspect a movie with him would be really really cool. I just love what that character can be. We have some interesting ideas for him.”

You’re bound to be screaming at your local cinema.
