Piers Morgan brags about Good Morning Britain ratings after quitting show

You didn’t think he’d leave quietly, did you?

Nope, neither did we.

Piers Morgan took to Twitter on Wednesday to brag about Good Morning Britain‘s ratings following his departure from the ITV show on Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, Morgan was involved in heated, often bizarre debates with the show’s guests as he raged against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In a tweet sent on Wednesday morning, Morgan said: “Good Morning Britain beat BBC Breakfast in the ratings yesterday for the first time. My work is done.”

Piers’ departure from the show came soon after he received backlash from the mental health charity, Mind, after claiming that he did not believe “a word” said by Meghan Markle.

During her interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess opened up about her struggles with mental health during her time as a senior royal, and how she experienced suicidal thoughts.

Following Morgan’s departure, BBC host Dan Walker sarcastically offered Piers a spot on his breakfast show to talk about his brisk departure from GMB.

But it seemed Morgan was too busy defending his views on Meghan Markle and free speech to attend, sending a tweet on Wednesday morning in which he doubled down on his comments, and claiming himself to be a victim of opponents of free speech.
