Olivia and John met in 2005 and married three years later

Olivia Newton-John shared a touching ‘flashback’ photo of her snuggling into her husband just days before she died.

The actress passed away surrounded by family at her ranch in Southern California on Monday. She was 73.

The Grease star’s husband, John Easterling, announced the news in a statement on social media saying his late wife had been a “symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years”.

Just two days before she passed away, the four-time Grammy Award-winner shared a snap of her beaming in John’s arms as she looked straight at the camera.

John, 70, looks off into the distance in the snap, as if in quiet contemplation, while holding her in his arms and resting one hand on hers.

Olivia didn’t write a caption, but used the hashtag, ‘flashbackfriday’, and used a heart emoji.

The post was flooded with likes and comments.

Days later, John, who married Olivia in 2008 after they met three years earlier, shared a picture of his late wife, announcing she had passed away.

In 2017, Olivia announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time – 25 years after the first occurrence.

In the post, John wrote: “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org).”
