The new Top Gun film has started shooting and here’s the first image

We feel the need for speed!

With Mission: Impossible – Fallout set to be unleashed this summer, 2018 is going to be a very busy one for Tom Cruise as he runs from film to film – then again, we all know that Tom loves a good sprint.

Truth be told, we’re absolutely pumped after hearing that Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell will be back in the cockpit in Top Gun: Maverick and back on our cinema screens more than 30 years since the original Top Gun, leaving us just about enough time to get over THAT death scene.

Poor Goose.

As reported previously, Top Gun: Maverick – the title confirmed recently by Cruise – will be released on July 12th, 2019 and we’re still wonder if his “ego is writing checks your body can’t cash.”

Christ, we’re pumped and need to hear this.

It’s also been confirmed that Joseph Kosinski has signed up as director. He worked with Cruise previously on Oblivion and it’s clear that he hasn’t lost that lovin’ feeling just yet.

As reported previously, the plot is going to take a look at modern warfare, as stated by the CEO of Skydance Productions, David Ellison.

“It is very much a world we live in today where it’s drone technology, and fifth-generation fighters are really what the United States Navy is calling the last man-made fighter that we’re actually going to produce, so it’s really [about] exploring the ‘end of an era’ of dogfighting and fighter pilots and what that culture is today. The plot will take place in the present day to account for the decades between the sequel and 1986,” he said.

Anyways, it’s bloody great to see that Maverick is back.
