OFFICIAL: Black Panther will be getting a sequel

"We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one."

Wakanda Forever.

Despite the fact that it’s still a relatively recent release, Black Panther is now the ninth highest film of all-time at the box office and the worst kept secret in the MCU has been revealed, a sequel is coming.

Still, despite the massive success, Marvel had yet to announce that a sequel was on the way. Plenty of people think that this was a tactic used by Kevin Feige to keep their cards as close to their chest as possible, trying to keep the post-Avengers 4 world a secret.

Well, much like Wakanda’s existence, the secret is out.

While speaking with EW, the Marvel Studios head was asked about the prospect of a sequel to Black Panther and he said that there’s another adventure in store.

“Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that,” Feige said of the Black Panther sequel. “One of the favourite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”

Given that it’s Oscar week, it’s also widely rumoured that Disney are going to put Ryan Coogler’s film for consideration at next year’s event. The director of The Dark Knight trilogy, Christopher Nolan, has even suggested that the Marvel film will be getting a nod at next year’s event.

T’Challa is king.
