Odds of Ryan Gosling becoming the next James Bond cut following Oscars gaffe

How?

JOE

Erm, what?

As we’re all well and truly sick of hearing by now, La La Land was mistakenly awarded Best Picture at the Oscars the other night, only for it to become clear midway through the acceptance speeches that the award should’ve actually gone to Moonlight.

A couple of days on from the monumental fuck up and the fallout continues, with news that Ryan Gosling’s hopes of becoming the next 007 have (somehow) apparently been boosted by the gaffe.

Quite how this makes any sense is beyond us, but the Express have reported that Gosling’s reaction to the mistake was enough for some bookies to slash the odds on him taking over from Daniel Craig.

“Ryan Gosling showed an admirable sense of humour and his composure was worthy of Mr Bond – the coolest cucumber of the lot,” a William Hill spokesperson explained.

Prior to the Oscars, Gosling was priced at 14/1 to be the next man to play Bond, but this has now come in to 10/1. Not that this makes him the favourite, mind. The likes of Michael Fassbender, James Norton and Tom Hardy are all deemed as more likely future Bonds.

We’re not buying it, to be honest.
